Fourways is home, it's where the workshop is and where most of my week starts.
This is the base. If you’re in Fourways, getting out to measure an opening or look at a job is a short trip, which means I can usually come and see it quickly rather than trying to price it off a photograph.
A lot of the work around here follows the housing: cluster and estate homes wanting pedestrian and driveway gates that suit the house rather than looking bolted on, burglar bars that aren’t an eyesore, and the steel-and-timber furniture that tends to go into a renovation rather than a new build.
The other steady stream is restoration. There are a lot of houses in this part of Johannesburg with hardwood doors and windows from decades back that have gone grey on the weather side. That timber is almost always worth bringing back rather than replacing.
